Getting started

How do I set up Lullink?

Install Lullink on two devices. On the one that will stay in the nursery, ideally plugged in: open Lullink, choose Camera and name the room. A QR code appears. On your phone: open Lullink, choose Parent, then scan that QR code. From then on, your phone finds the camera on its own.

Where should I place the camera?

At least one meter (about three feet) from the bed, on a stable surface, with the cable out of the child's reach. Frame the whole bed, avoiding a window facing the camera. Keep the device plugged in, with Lullink open on screen.

How do I keep the camera screen from lighting up the room?

As soon as a parent is connected, the camera screen goes black after 15 seconds without being touched. Tap it twice to turn it back on. You can also turn it into a soft night light, amber, red or lavender.

Which devices are supported?

Android phones and tablets running Android 7.0 or later (on Google Play), and soon iPhone and iPad running iOS 15 or later (on the App Store). Apple TV, Android TV and Apple Watch are coming with the next version.

Connection

My phone can't find the camera

Check that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, and not on a “guest” network, which often isolates devices. On iPhone and iPad, local network access must be allowed: Settings → Lullink → Local Network.

The QR code no longer works

A pairing QR code can only be used once, within 10 minutes. On the camera, tap Add a parent to show a new one.

I changed phones

On the camera, tap Add a parent, then scan the new QR code with the new phone. You can also remove the old one from the list of parents there.

How do I give access to the babysitter or grandparents?

Invite them from the camera with Invite for a few hours, for 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours: their access ends on its own. From the camera, you can also remove a parent at any time.

There's no Wi-Fi (camping, travel, hotel)

Tap “No Wi-Fi? Camping, travel…” on the app's home screen, then “Create the Lullink network”: an Android phone creates the network itself. On iPhone, use Personal Hotspot. Step-by-step instructions are in the guide Baby monitor without Wi-Fi.

Alerts and notifications

I don't get alerts when my phone is locked

Allow notifications for Lullink. On Android, especially on Samsung, also exclude Lullink from battery saving: Settings → Apps → Lullink → Battery → Unrestricted.

I get too many alerts, or not enough

When the room is quiet, tap Measure the quiet: the threshold is set just above the background noise. Then adjust how long the noise must last (1, 3, 5 or 10 seconds) and the motion sensitivity. Details are in the guide Set up cry alerts.

Why are there no sound alerts during a lullaby?

While a lullaby or a soothing sound plays, sound alerts are paused, because the microphone hears the music. Motion is still monitored.

I got “Lost connection to the camera”

The parent phone no longer receives the camera. Check that it's plugged in, that Lullink is open on screen and that both devices are still on the same network. The connection comes back on its own as soon as possible.

iPhone and Android

The camera stops on iPhone or iPad

iOS turns the camera off when the app is no longer on screen. Keep Lullink open on the camera device, plugged in, and use Black screen at night. If the app still goes to the background, parents are warned by an alarm.

What is the “Lullink is listening” notification on Android?

This notification, “Lullink is listening” followed by your room's name, keeps listening active with the screen off: the room sound and alerts keep going thanks to it. If you swipe it away, it comes back on its own.

Recordings and privacy

Where are clips kept?

If you turn on Record events, the camera keeps a short clip of each noise or motion detected, on the camera device, for 7 days at most (the oldest are deleted if space runs low). You'll find them from the night log. Recording is turned off each time the camera starts.

Are my pictures sent anywhere?

No. Picture and sound are end-to-end encrypted between the camera and the parents' devices: we never see or hear anything. Details are in the privacy policy.

Does Lullink replace adult supervision?

No. Lullink is a monitoring aid: it does not replace the presence of an adult and is not a medical device.
